FAR Requirments
FAR:s require a person interested taking a Private Pilot Licence to be 17 years of age. A student pilot can not solo until he is 16 years of age, but can receive flight instruction under the age of 16.
A person applying for a Private Pilot Certificate must receive and log Ground Training ( Ground School ) from an authorized instructor.
1.Usa Academy of Avation California Helicopter Flight School will teach you, The Ground school subject areas are: Aerodynamics-Weather-Airspace- Federal Aviation Regulations- Cross Country Navigation- Center of Gravity calculations- Radio Communication- Pre-Flight Inspection- ( engine, magnetos, alternator, battery, engine starter, electrical system, gear-boxes, drive- shafts, flex couplings, push and pull tubes, bell crank's, oil-cooler, swash plate assembly's, pitch links, and blades, etc). Pilot Operating Handbook, with the emergency section, Performance, and Limitations section. Accident Analysis, Flight Instruments ( Vertical Speed Indicator- Airspeed Indicator- Altimeter- Manifold Pressure Gage, Tachometer, Oil Pressure, Oil Temperature, Cylinder Head Temperature, and Carb Heat gage). Maintenance requirements, Authorized Mechanics, Aircraft and Engine Log-Books, US Airspace ( Prohibited-Restricted- Military Operation Areas, Warning Areas- Air Defense Identification Zones, Alert Areas, National Security Areas, Military Training Routes, Temporary Flight Restriction Areas, Published VFR Routes, etc ) Chart's and Symbols, Global Positioning System, Garmin 150 & Garmin 296. Operation of Radio and Transponder. Airport Operations, Runway & Taxiway Markings and Lighting, Airport Visual Aids, Rotating Beacon, Emergency Locator Transmitter, Aeromedical ( hypoxia, spatial disorientation, illness, medication, stress, alcohol, drugs, fatigue ). Stress Tolerance Training and Special Federal Aviation Regulations, Awareness Training (SFAR:s ).
2.Three day Commercial Helicopter Pilot Ground School,
